Every sustainment system assumes the reports keep coming. In a contested environment they do not. A unit goes quiet because it is moving, because its link is jammed, because the report is late, or because something worse has happened. The system of record shows the last number it received, with no indication that the number is six hours old, and the staff briefs it as current.
Three states, not one
ALLCLASS models the data link in three states and shows the state on every screen.
- Connected: reports arrive on schedule; numbers are current and shown as points.
- Degraded: reports arrive late or incomplete; the last report is carried forward, the forecast widens by the day, and values show as ranges.
- Denied: no report; the unit is carried forward from its last known state, flagged on the commander's list, and every number it contributes to the picture carries its age.
The age of each unit's last report sits beside its numbers at all times. A commander reading the picture can tell at a glance which figures are observations and which are projections from stale data.
Why widening is the right answer
The temptation is to hold the last value or to zero it. Holding it lies about certainty. Zeroing it lies in the other direction. Widening the range as hours pass tells the truth: we knew this unit had four days of fuel this morning; by tonight it has somewhere between two and four, depending on what it did. That range is what a planner actually needs to decide whether to push a resupply.
The alert that matters
A unit that has not reported is itself an alert. ALLCLASS raises a no-report alert when a unit's data goes stale past a threshold the commander sets, and routes it through the commander's critical information requirements like any other threshold breach. The decision brief states the data age for every figure it uses. Nobody is briefed a number without being told how old it is.
Built for the network it will run on
The platform is designed for closed and disconnected deployment. The demonstration runs entirely in the browser with no network calls; the pilot architecture runs inside the customer's boundary with the same code. A logistics picture that needs a clean connection to the cloud to be truthful is not a logistics picture for this environment.
